I was inspired to write “Songbird” as a tribute song to honor Dolly Parton’s life and legacy. Our dear friend, Natasha Neely recorded it with the help of Dolly’s producer and our friend, Kent Wells, at Dark Horse Recording Studio in Franklin. Thank you, Jimmy Mattingly, the best fiddle player in Nashville! Many thanks to Todd Hibbs, our videographer extraordinaire. We are so grateful for Dolly’s Imagination Library for bringing free books to millions of children across the world.

As a young girl, I would sit with my grandmother and watch Dolly on the Porter Waggoner Show from the Opryland Theme Park. Thank you Dolly for all you have done for Tennessee.
